For Vase Arrangements
If your flowers come in a vase, the main thing is keeping the water fresh. Every day, add water as needed so the stems stay covered.Try to keep it out of direct sun and away from heat vents or drafts — flowers tend to last longer in a cooler, steady spot.
As time goes on, some blooms will fade before others. You can gently remove anything that’s past its prime so the rest can keep opening.
For Hand-Tied Bouquets
With bouquets, you get to do a bit more of the process yourself.
Start by preparing your vase with water, trimming the stems at an angle before placing them in water within a few seconds of cutting. A clean vase and fresh water make a big difference. Every day, add water and every few days, give the stems a quick trim again.
If any leaves fall below the waterline, remove them — it helps keep things clean and extends the life of the flowers.
